They took the world by storm; bringing the sound of the country into the 21st century and smashing charts worldwide. Who would have thought it? But now the game changing energetic London band are here with the first release off their upcoming and much anteicipated new album Babel.

And how does a band so different from everything else out there progress between albums? Well we can’t wait for the album to find out fully but this first single from it screams “We are big, we know it , you know, this song’s a number one, enjoy it” and why shouldn’t it! In what could be our favourite #FeaturedFollower I began work on our Facebook page cover photo to feature them instantly upon hearing them, knowing they’re something special and the same goes to anyone, the first few lines of one of the Sweedish Duo’s beautiful songs and you know this is something special.

They’re two voices that compliment each other beautifully. Harmonies to bring a smile to anyone’s day!

I would say Bloc Party are back, but they never went away!

Their latest release Octopus would slot in nicely to their debut album Silent Alarm, and for this has proven popular with first album fans since its first play.

Yes they created other styles of albums, personally A Weekend in The City was my favourite yet other fans would disagree and most certainly everyone could tell they’d moved away from their ‘indie mosh strings and drop’ style with electro plastered ‘One More Chance’ And each album can be respectably praised for different reasons, lets hope this original flavour we are given in the brilliant octopus is a taster for a wow we face in FOUR and not the height of it!

After their annoying debut album of “songs with the same chords” and second “must succeed” album determined to make an imprinted name in the world of pop magic, not go unforgotten; Scouting For Girls return as Roy fancies himself as a bit of a Jamie T .

They’re not stupid, they know people were sick of the first album before they got to the end of releasing every song on it. And they realise they have to change their style as time goes on as does every band, yet whilst the critics destroy the band for their inability to create a magical masterpieces of music release or a classic album, we know elxactly what Scouting For Girls stands for;

It’s feel good, slightly cheesy, not great but catchy pop which gets everyone involved. And for that, they’re great! Geniuses? No but you can always rely on them for a catchy chart hit and this may just be the latest addition to their collection of them.

Example - Say Nothing NEW SINGLE

It Doesn’t Get Fresher Than This!

Living up to our name, and just hours old, here’s Example’s latest track.

Example has lately focused on the beat, dance and drop to keep his listeners bouncing around, but whilst this take on his latest album was a different mood which shot him to stardom , we’ve always loved those slower original tracks, well not slower as such but not exactly going to have your granny screaming and turning down her hearing aid.

Example is often underrated for the lyrical quality of such songs and them simply overlooked as not as good as they don’t recreate the same club feeling, but this song re-creates the magic of Watch the Sun Come Up and the days we fell in love with this artist. An approach which makes you think wow, he can rap and yet his ‘talkative’ lyrics are pretty good too.

We, know, he knows, you know he’s not the greatest singer but nor is Calvin and at least he keeps within his avbility rather than auto tuning - Respect.

To be honest I don’t know where he was going on this one, I believe he’s crossed kings of leon with the first album and it doesn’t quiet fit. i know you’ve got different styles example, but don’t cross them! Keep them separate, they’re different talents and this is why you have different fan bases

Our national treasure has made a big return to mainstream with his dance collaborations in Elton vs. Pnau. A song which is sure to get the crowd dancing, good morning to the night is one of the more laid back of the official Olympic songs

Chemical Brothers

For use in the Cycling Events, the appropriately named Velodrome takes some getting into but provides an appropriate bet to the sport. It could have had more substance to it however they have focused on making a sound to the sport and outside the sport it will easily be forgotten

Dizzee Rascal feat. Pepper – Scream

Learing from the success of a female vocalist with Florence, Dizzee tries it again in a rap about determination and success in the games, cliché of which but so was ‘Shout’ and Dizzee does love to get involved.

Delphic – Good Life

In a surprise move, Delphic have the 5^thOfficial Single of the games with the underrated ‘Good Life” , harder to come by and overshadowed by the Chemical Borthers in the electro scene, it’s a crying shame. Delphic have created a track capturing the atmosphere and feelings by fans and supporters across the world which is something else!

Elbow – First StepsIn what should be a official track, First Steps by elbow is used heavily by the BBC. A hidden gem to say the least but the promo is the best verion we can find of it

Devlin and ed have been planning a collaboration for a while, Watchtower brings a darker side to the oh so soft sheeran showcasing talents which could be explored in a turn of direction for a second album, who knows, either way these two talents have came together to create something special

Bashy has been around for a bit but this may be the most straight forward of songs he has done, Now im all up for culture showcasing songs when done correctly, but London town boasts lyrics about forgetting to pay in a congestion zone, somewhat unimaginative.

Ruby Goe – Badman

These talented vocals over a ‘kid cudi like’ dance tune, make this Ruby Goe someone definitely worth listening too!

Toddla t feat shola ama – alive

There is no dobt that Todla T succeeds best when complimented by a female vocalist, however how many times can he do this? Shola is the real star in this song, we’d like to hear more form her so will be keeping a close eye out

Rudekid feat skepta – get busy

This song is about four years too late. The high repetitive talentless female vocals were very popular when H2O got a number two, in 2012 its irritating and chavish. That’s what ruins this song.

Azealia banks – liquorice

Following up from the massive 212 is some challenge for Azelia. Her focus is using her lyrical ability of which is ten fold better to the nonsense Minaj speaks, yet if this style or rap isn’t your cup of tea, like myself, turn off!

K Koke feat. Wale – Roc for life

Now anyone disagreeing with my speculation of ‘Rapper’ Fazer’s talents needs to listen to this guy. Another born and bred creation of this country speaking truths in true urban style, this guy reminds me very much of Plan B.

Fans of Paramore will love We are the In Crowd, with a similar setup. Exits and entrances is a great sounding, written and typical modern punk rock song with the perfect ingredients to make it into your favourite songs in this genre

Caspa feat keith flint – war

If old school Hadukoen or the prodigy is your cup of tea, try this out, a great example of when rock meats base. This song lacks a climax and by the end we’re sick of the exaggerated emotionless speech in which these lyrics are portrayed, one thing Hadukoen have always done brilliantly

This Australian band and are terribly underrated. Great indie rock from across the globe.

Red hot chilli peppers – Brendan’s Death song

Can you like a song about death? No? Tried listening to this? Because we sure can!

Lady Antebellum – Wanted you more

Another beautiful song by Lady Antebellum, the piano keys to this towards the end really add to its message, truly beautifully done!

The darkness – nothin’s gonna stop us

Taking a traditional turn to Rock, the Darkness return with Nothing’s Gonna Stop us a catchy beat with those trademark vocals, it may be the start of something new for them but if its chart success you were thinking, This isn’t it.

Blur – Puritan

Blur have some new songs to release, and here’s one of them. What can you say? Can you fault them? Can I even attempt to critique, I mean bloody hell they’re a natural treasure! Luckily I don’t have anything bad to say anyway, just enjoy it!

Disclosure produce music that you get lost in, the deep beats give a funky house beat you don’t find anywhere else, not our favourite but a masterpiece all the same.

Beach house – lazuli

Spaced out, Jazuli showcases some quality electro music however there is very little substance to this song and I feel it lies mainly upon sound effects, if the whole song picked up like it does at 3:30 we may be onto something

The bloody beetroots – rocksteady

For all the electro we’ve heard this week nothings had the contagious kinetic energy than that of RockSteady,

Justice – newlands

Nobody does it like Justice, and the vocals surprisingly add to a tune we thought that would be ruined, we wanted it to kick in and drop real heavy, but it didn’t. We know they could have, so why not? Their judgment lies within the album I believe so great album track, as far as a release goes, they shouldn’t have bothered.

Adrian lux feat. Dante – burning

What’s not to like Beat, Lyrics, Video, Everything about this song screams hit!

Patric la funk & DJ delicious – smile

Without a doubt this is a huge hidden gem in this weeks BoxFresh. A huge electro mix which I could imagine in clubs everywhere, huge talent which needs recognising I mean come on, only 518 views ? This will get your granny dancing on the sofa.

Diamond rings – I’m just me

Synthpop and Electro is back by Diamond Rings, I can’t help but see contrast to Calvin Harris’s first album, but like Calvin, give up on the actual singing mate because your not that good, he probably knows that which is why its presented like it is but by no means does it spoil the song

Once, one of Britain’s best kept secrets, the talents of Josh Kumra were released with the hit Don’t Go with wretch 32, since then we’ve been waiting for him to establish himself with his own rightful place in the charts, its only now that he has stepped up to that mark with this beautiful song. It may just lack that ooooh to keep it popular, as we’ve forgotten it already

The Jack McManus ‘bang on the piano’ like Andy Grammer has another one of these laidback pop songs which really should be getting more airplay. The feel good song and story which will get stuck in your head! And I’m not one to complain about that.

FIRSTPLAY’s FRESHEST»

The Killers - Runaways - With their new video just hours old, this is where we live up to our name.

Back with their latest single, its been a while but the band are together. By all means this is a good song, Flower’s lyrcis as good as ever making the killer sa band to be remembered for years to come! This song definitely shifts focus however we’ll have to wait for the album to see the bands complete new direction, theres a lot more focus on the base in this song than previously singing, but for those less so cult fans wondering, no it’s no Mr Brightside! But the Killers have evolved and this album could well hold a song just as big.

Either way we cannot wait for the new album!

This week’s #FeaturedFollower surprised us. Yes we were surprised they weren’t already massive. This form of indie rock across the ocean is massive now and these guys slot right in there with there own tone on things, deeper lyrics than a lot of amateur modern indie rock bands and a huge talent, we are sure NovaScotia are full of potential and won’t be such a well kept secret for much longer.

We listened to Gnarly Aubery and were hooked!

Two Door Cinema club return this year with their much anticipated album, Beacon

The first release of which is this, Sleep Alone.

So what do we expect from this - Its clear from the first ten seconds that this is a much more mature approach but by no means have TDCC lost their fun as their trademark strings take a more laid back approach and a much more intense, gripping and base focused rhythm grabs us with lyrics which show us this band is no one trick pony, and are very much reminding me of the Killers early days. They’ve grown within their music and I love a band that takes risks - the only question is, will the loss of their quirkiness cost them their popularity? Only the rest of the album will tell but it has a lot to live up to from the success of their debut.
